What you will be doing
We are currently looking for EU Senior Research Manager / Senior Consultant to join our Policy and Research team to help us grow our European market. They will help us win and deliver projects in the area of EU communication evaluation, monitoring and research.
In your Senior Research Manager / Senior Consultant role, you will mostly work with EU institution clients, including the European Commission, e.g. DG COMM, but also other Commission services that require communication evaluation, monitoring and research services.
You will also have the opportunity to contribute to Ecorys’ work in other EU policy areas, including employment, education, social inclusion, equalities, youth, greening and digital as well as other EU bodies and agencies e.g. the European Parliament, the Council of the EU, ELA, ESFA, HaDEA, etc.
As a Senior Research Manager / Senior Consultant, you can expect to:
Contribute to leading the work within the Policy and Research team as well as with Ecorys partners and clients to advance the field of communication evaluation, monitoring and research, drawing on new technologies e.g. AI, analytics tools and innovative impact evaluation methodologies.
Manage exciting and challenging medium- to large-sized pan-European communication evaluation, monitoring and research projects with the support of Ecorys directors, while keeping them within budget and timescale and overseeing teams of other researchers and experts.
Work with senior colleagues to identify new business opportunities and contribute to drafting proposals for winning work in communication evaluation, monitoring and research across a wide spectrum of EU policy areas, including digitalisation, greening, more inclusive communication, etc.
Utilise your technical skills and EU policy knowledge to design and oversee the implementation of communication evaluation, monitoring and research methodologies, covering mixed-method research techniques as well as innovative and experimental methods in communication monitoring and evaluation.
Successfully advance and conclude projects through the production of high-quality written reports and presentations of results.
Manage high-performing, highly motivated and diverse technical delivery teams to work within tight deadlines.
Assume line management responsibilities of one or two more junior staff members once you have well settled into your role.
Undertake international travel when and if necessary for project delivery, business development and team-building.
What we will need from you
Experience in the development and delivery of methodologies for EU-wide communication monitoring, evaluation or research projects, including successful application of analytical approaches, development of KPIs and data collection methods.
Solid project management skills as well as in-depth knowledge of a variety of primary, secondary, qualitative and quantitative research methods such as desk research, interviews, surveys, focus groups, statistical analysis, etc.
In addition to strong technical skills, you will need to be equally enthusiastic about business development in this field, with some experience of winning new projects and ideally tender-writing.
Experience of managing and coordinating teams (including with industry and academic experts as well as partners and subcontractors), as well as developing and maintaining excellent client relationships.
An outstanding level of spoken and written English, as well as strong presentation skills, are essential.
